Revision Surgery: All artificial joint replacements have the potential for wearing out while the patient is alive, and we are staying alive and active longer these days. Wear of the prosthesis can result in loosening. There are specific hip implants to use after removing a worn out or loose replacement. Recovery is usually slightly slower, and has slightly more risk of complication than the first surgery.
