Aortic valve surgery: Aortic valves are replaced. Mitral valves are repaired if possible, otherwise replaced. The success rates are very high in a typical pt. If bypass surgery is needed or if the pt has alot of other comorbid condtions then risks go up and success rates go down. Over all in low risk pts the rates of success are in excess of 95%.
