Depends: What type of diabetes does your mom have? Type 2 does run in families. I'm not sure if you are talking about the diabetes or the fibroids ?

Heredity: Having a parent with diabetes increases your risk. You can counteract it by keeping healthy weight and exercising 150 minutes/week. Fibroids are very common, visit this site for info: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/uterine-fibroids/symptoms-causes/syc-20354288
