How bad does a vcug hurt during the test?

VCUG…: Shouldn't be painful since usually the bladder catheter is coated with Lidocaine gel to numb the urethra when it's being inserted. Instillation of contrast ("dye") doesn't hurt. Catheter is removed. Xrays are taken (or fluoroscope used) while you pee into towels.
