Ovulation induction: Treatment should begin with ovulation induction if pcos is the only problem causing infertility. Most pcos women are not ovulating regularly. Usually ovulation induction is performed using Clomid (clomiphene) or Letrozole (femara). These are oral medications taken for 5 days at the beginning of a cycle. Some women with pcos will not respond to these medications and will require injectable medications.

Ovulation meds: It's most important to assure someone with pcos is "healthy" before ttc. The diagnosis of pcos has to be secured, too. Then, most times, strategies for helping the woman ovulate are discussed (such as pregnitude, clomiphene, or letrozole). Hope this helps!

Nutritional Rx: Pcos is caused by high estrogen (e2)combined with high Insulin which then transforms e2 into testosterone. Excess carbs can elevate both Insulin (via stimulation of pancreas) and e2 (via competitive inhibition of glucoronidase enzyme) a low carb diet reduces both Insulin & e2 thus positively impacting this metabolic disease. Avoid fried foods, veg oils, soy.
