St. John's wort: St. Johns wort has been shown to be beneficial in treating milder forms of depression. It is not too effective with moderate to severe forms. Due to have similiar affects on seretonin levels, it's recommended that you don't take st. Johns wort and an antidepressant together.

Maybe: It depends on how bad your depression is and if it works for you. For real depression you should be under the care of your doctor even if choosing this medication, and it is a medication even though you can buy it without a prescription.
