Accredited unit: Most mammograms are almost painfree or associated with little discomfort. Some people experience more pain. Use a mammography service that has accreditation. Some services offer a soft pad on the machine which makes it slightly more comfortable. Talk to the technician before the procedure and alert her/him of your pain threshold..
