Rhizopus nigricans - is it edible in small amounts?

Bread Mold: Rhizopus nigricans is a fungus known as bread mold and found in soil, and children's sandboxes. Dispersed in hot dry weather, the spores contain allergenic proteins which can produce respiratory and nasal symptoms (e.g. chronic cough, dyspnea, chest tightness, chronic phlegm, snuffle, and allergic rhinitis). Eaten in small quantities it is not likely to be harmful if your gastric acid is normal.
