Ovulation tests: Ovulation tests indicate when an egg comes out of the ovary, which is a necessary condition of getting pregnancy, but, by itself, it does not indicate pregnancy.

Doubtful: Its more likely that you have an erratic ovulation, or a defective test kit. In my fertility practice we see this every week.

Is PCOS possible?: If you have not had a pattern of ovulating regularly (that is, getting regular periods), the test can be falsely positive. For example, polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition that causes irregular periods, excess body hair or acne, and often easy weight gain or obesity. Women with this condition often have high lh (the hormone that is detected by ovulation kits).
