What are the causes of central serious retinopathy?

Many things: Csr is an eye disease which causes visual impairment, often temporarily, usually in one eye, mostly affecting males in the age group 20 to 50 but which may also affect women. This condition may be caused by the use of cortisol or corticosteroids. Csr is a fluid detachment of macula layers from their supporting tissue allowing choroidal fluid to leak into the subretinal space.

Usually none: Central serous retinopathy (csr) is usually idiopathic (we don't know what causes it) but it is associated with stress, steroid use (nasal steroids for allergies, oral, inhaled steroids for asthma). Csr can also seen in patients on high doses of antihistamines (pseudophedrine producst), in pregnant women and in patients after organ transplant. Steroids are the most common association that i see.
