Laser for spots: A facelift is a 3-dimensional reshaping but does not correct changes in the skin such as brown spots. It would also not make them more prominent, but there are several good treatments such as ipl (intense pulsed light) and lasers that will help.

Facelift & skin spot: Facelifting doesn't change the quality of the skin, nor does it reduce prior damage. Facelifting is done to tighten the face and neck and reduce wrinkles. In order to address discolorations and sun damage, direct treatments are necessary. Topical products may be helpful, but laser treatments or peels may be in order. It's hard to advise you without photos. Discuss your concerns with your md.

Peel, IPL, or laser: Since surgery to the face starts a cascade of healing factors, brown spots, which are a condition of melanin overproduction can be further stimulated. Skin lighteners, such as hydroquinone, or other skin treatments such as a chemical peel, laser or ipl treatments can even out your skin tone or other brown patches (dyschromia) which can help with these brown spots.

Probably not related: These are probably not related. However there are many options for treating brown spots after they are evaluated for possible melanoma. Discuss with your plastic surgeon or dermatologist.

Unlikely: Most brown spots are related to exposure to the sun. If your brown spots appear more prominent, it may be that you have some pih (post-inflammatory-pigment) that can occur after any procedure including facelift. More likely however is that your face appears younger and fresher and now you seeing the brown spots more prominently. Any growth or change in a spot should be evaluated for melanoma.

Facelift: Dear dancap6, if you are still early in the healing period (6 months), just watch it for now. Sometimes the trauma of surgery will make these spots worse. Wear sunscreen religiously. If it is still present after that time period, ask your doctor. A laser or cream may help. Best, nima shemirani.
