Many possibilities: Your first step would probably be to talk with your family physician about this. There could be noise or other stimuli in your bedroom -- like if you have a sleep partner that snores, including a pet! some people leave tv on all night, or computers -- which leads to sleep disruption. Medications can cause this, and so can drinking alcohol. Your doctor can help you investigate things.

Age related?: Often times as one gets older sleep becomes lighter for many and it may just be that age or hormone changes are causing this. Also diet exercise and stress can be factors as well. Getting more caffeine in your diet and drug regimen changes can cause this as well. Check with your doctor.
