Antifungal Treatment: Butenafine, an antifungal medication, is indicated for the treatment of Jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm. Butenafine works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membrane. It essentially weakens the fungal cell membrane causing the fungus to disintegrate and undergo cell death. If properly used, butenafine is effective against the above fungal infections.
