Not healthy: Suicide is never a healthy answer to distress. Many teens, many people have such thoughts. When that is the case, then one needs help to uncover the cause of such unhappiness and help remove it. Common-yes. Need help-absolutely. It is healthy that you even ask the question...Now follow through and seek help.

Suicide: Periodic thoughts of suicide throughout the lifespan are certainly within parameters of normal behavior, and the overwhelming majority of them pass. Adolescents think of it more, because of raging hormones and the seemingly insurmountable undertaking of adulthood relentlessly approaching them, where society asks the adolescent to make major life choices before they are emotionally prepared.
