Stretches: You want your back and spine to get blood flow. The disc has limited blood supply. Pelvic lifts (lying on back, tilting your pelvis up); "bicycling": knees bent, arms above your held while lying flat; bring one arm down, while the opposite leg is brought to your chest; repeat with opposite arm/leg set -- for 20 - 30 cycles.
