A member asked:

Do food allergies affect the fodmap elimination diet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not very much: The fodmap elimination diet is designed for people with irritable bowel syndrome (ibs). It's goal is to reduce sugars and short-chain carbohydrates in the diet. The major overlap is with wheat as most of the other foods avoided in this diet are fruit & vegetables that are not common food allergy offenders.
