A member asked:

What are the treatments for restrictive lung disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends.: Depends upon cause. Restrictive lung diseases fall in 3 broad classes: lung tissue disease, muscles of respiration disease, and those things that compress or prevent the lung from expanding. If you mean interstitial lung tissue disease the treatments are generally modulators of the immune system primarily Prednisone but more advanced agents may be necessary.
