Treat cause: Majority of cases in restrictive lung disease are not smoke related. Example of them are scoliosis, musculardystrophies, lung fibrosis, or space occupying lesions such as pleural effusion, pneumothorax or tumor inside thoracic cavity. Need to do plethysmography with dlco, cxr and or ct scan of chest to find etiology. Then treat accordingly. Shahzeidi, md.
