Yes-but not possible: It is nearly impossible to completely remove salt from the diet. You can have a "low salt" diet, where it is <1 gram per day -- or maybe less if you are amazingly disciplined. However, reducing salt intact can result in decreased blood pressure in patients who have hypertension (high blood pressure). It is usually part of a diet, exercise, and medication regimen.
