Hard to tell: Most common reason for early bleeding may be an impending miscarriage. It is a common occurrence but does not make it any less heartbreaking for the patient. Other causes could include: implantation bleeding- the pregnancy can continue onward, vaginal infection, laceration or cut from intercourse, a mild separation of the placenta causing a retroplacental hemorrhage.
