Hiatal hernia: Typically not a whole lot unless the resulting symptoms affect quality of life significantly. In that case, surgical options are considered.

Lots!: First and foremost, people sometimes interchange hiatal hernia with gastroesophageal reflux disease; if you are suffering from heartburn, that is called gerd, of which a hiatal hernia may be a contributing factor. This can be rx'd with meds, dietary and lifestyle changes with excellent control. Hiatal hernias are very common, often symptom-free, and rarely require surgical rx. Hope this helps!
