HPV: He should use a condom during sexual intercourse. If he had unprotected sex, he should be checked by doc for hpv genital warts & have them treated.

Protection: If you are hpv positive, you sex partner should wear a condom. He should also get vaccinated for hpv with gardisil.

HPV 16 is the viral: Agent that causes most of cervical cancer, now implicated in throat cancers, prevented by gardisil (vaccine), and is highly infectious, and increase relative risks, but absolute risks of cancers are quite low. Your partner should know and choose wisely: condom over infection.
