Polycythemia: Polycythemia means elevation of hemoglobin /red blood cells level. It can be caused by different conditions. In general is divided into 2- primary bone marrow problem ( polycythemia vera) vs secondary polycythemia. Treatment , what to do, what to expect etc-would depend on the cause of polycythemia.She should see a hematologist as some evaluation/ blood work up have to be done to find the cause.
