Do i need a cast for a stress fracture in my hand?

Usually not: If you are not having significant pain, a cast often is not necessary. However depending on the location of the stress fracture and degree of pain, a cast may be needed.

Maybe: Some stress fractures require rigid support for optional healing. Others do not. Be sure to see a hand surgeon for a complete evaluation and recommendations.
