Preventive Medicine 36 years experience
Proven ones: Depending somewhat on age, this list includes checks for high blood pressure, colon cancer, cholesterol (at least for men), unrecognized depression, mammograms (women) and bone density (women). Also beneficial are pneumococcal, tetanus/pertussis, flu and shingles vaccines, not smoking, and a healthy diet and exercise. For more info, check out the iphone app called my health checklist 2012.
