Ask your doctor how soon you can travel in a car with seatbelts, how soon and how long you can fly in an airplane, and what activity level is recommended for you. Soon: By car in a week- to get home! by plane a few weeks is common but it depends on the operation done, the general status of the patient. We usually see our discharged patients in 7-10 days and advise. We tend to see folks again at 6weeks and get them into rehab, driving etc.
