Multiple: Tn pain is neuropathic pain. Best response rate has been reported with Oxcarbazepine and carbamazepine. Faily high response rates have been reported with Gabapentin and pregabalin. More importantly, is the proper use of these medications. Problems of under and overdosing occur. Side effects, or fear of side effects often limit their effectiveness. Sometimes combination therapy is needed.

TN medications: In spite of vast improvements in the medical or surgical management of TN, there is still no treatment modality available. Carbamazepine, trileptal, neurontin, (gabapentin) baclofen and Dilantin are the most common medications for TN.
