Massage does not!: It is the introduction of bacteria into the male urethra that enters the prostate that causes infectious prostatitis. This can occur from vaginal, oral, and anal sex. In older indivudals colonic bacteria are common. The treatment is with appropriate antibiotics. Massage can help treat, but not prevent it.
