Hopefully not in kid: Byssinosis, brown lung disease, is an inflammatory condition of the lungs & breathing tubes that occurs in persons working with raw cotton, flax, sisal & hemp. Constantly breathing the dust of these materials results in symptoms of asthma. Continued exposure for many years can cause irreversible lung damage. Age is not a factor. Children may be exposed in third-world textile factories.
