Kids are more prone : Younger children (under 10) are more susceptible to concussion and may take longer to recover. If a concussion is suspected in a child an evaluation by a doctor should be performed asap and they should be taken out of any sport or strenuous activity for the remainder of that day. There should be no return until completely symptom free and cleared by a doctor.

Young and old: the high risk groups are young children, adolescents and the elderly. Young children due to falls, much curiosity and no safety awareness. Adolescents due to impulsivity, risk taking behavior and contact sports, the elderly due to falls and loss of coordination.
