Yes: Many veterans suffer some form of traumatic brain injury if they are exposed to blasts, explosions, falls, bullets to the kevlar helmet, or any other trauma. Our equipment today is great to prevent death, but the underlying brain frequently suffers injury from impact and sudden deceleration.

Define "Very." One : TBI is too many. DOD reports "prevalence" not incidence - of 300K, w/over 1/2 w/in Army alone. Equates to 22% or 1-in-5 SM. Remember TBI is a disease spectrum, ranging from very mild concussions to fatalities. The DOD&VA are aggressively tackling this.
