Are hysterectomies still the standard treatment for women?

Hysterectomy: It is not clear what you mean by standard treatment. Hysterectomy is performed for multiple reasons including bleeding, pelvic pain, prolapse, and tumors (benign & malignant) as just a few examples. If a women never has a problem with her uterus then she will never be in need of a hysterectomy.
