Irritation, redness: The #1 symptom is the feeling that you have something in your eye! that can manifest as a persistent irritation or scratching sensation. Foreign body may cause redness where the eye is usually white. Blurred vision is possible if the cornea (the clear front of the eye) is affected, but it isn't guaranteed. Try to wash your eye with sterile eye wash (not tap water). If that fails, go see a pro.

Object in eye: If it will not flush out with eye drops and blinking, then you need to see an er doctor or an ophthalmologist to remove it. This is especially so if the vision is affected or you think the object might have penetrated the eye. Otherwise you should not wait more than 24 hours for it to spontaneously leave until you get attention.
