How long will it take a liver donor to recover after surgery?

Depends: Recovery is based in stages. You will recover from the anesthesia in minutes. Usually you will be out of the hospital in days. You may be back at work in a couple of weeks (depending upon what you do) but it will take 3 to 6 months to stop feeling like you had surgery.

Between : 3-5 days prior to discharge. It may take weeks to months until you feel as good as before the surgery.
