Hard to say: There are many causes of chest pain and I am not certain what you mean by side pain. Anyway, heart problems, gastrointestinal problems, musculoskeletal problems, lung problems, to name a few. The exact nature of your pain, a physical examination, and appropriate tests such as an EKG should lead to the answer., .
