Yes: Inserting endotracheal tubes is included in the paramedics' job description. Positioning needs to be checked, though, just as it does when a physician places it.

Yes: Not only that, but paramedics often have the same equipment used in emergency rooms and operating rooms such as videoscopic intubating equipment and the ability to do an emergent surgical opening into the airway if needed. They often train to perfect their skills in the operating room under the direction of an anesthesiologist.
