A member asked:

How is viral meningitis treated in college kids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Supportive care: Uncomplicated viral meningitis is treated generally as an outpatient with supportive care only such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin for fever and/or pain. Any person showing more severe symptoms, neurologic complications, or other concerning symptom is admitted to the hospital for specific treatments for their complications.
