Dentition & pregnant: Pregnancy can accelerate dental decay and gum disease. Gums are more friable and bleed easier while pregnant. Poor periodontal health in pregnancy has been associated with an increased risk of preterm labor. Therefore important to maintain good dental health when pregnant.

Pregnancy gingivitis: Sometimes the gums may be more likely to bleed during pregnancy (pregnancy gingivitis) so your dentist was probably saying that your gums looked great considering that you were pregnant.
