Infection unlikely: While it is possible to get infected from improperly grown sprouts, they have wonderful health benefits and the risks are minimal if some basic safety guidelines, such as buying seeds approved by the international sprout growers association, are followed. See http://whfoods.Org/genpage.Php?Tname=george&dbid=113 for more suggestions to ensure safety. Happy sprouting!
