Polio is endemic in: Pakistan, nigeria & afghanistan. Polio cases still occur in ethiopia, israel, kenya & somalia. Despite world health organization attempts at eradication, political unrest & rejection of the vaccine for religious reasons has slowed vaccination progress. Vaccinators in pakistan & nigeria have been murdered. Oral vaccine containing live virus has actually caused polio infections.
