A member asked:

Is it true that a typical sore throat originates in your nose and moves to your throat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Often: Viral upper respiratory infections have to enter the body somewhere. Often they enter through the nose and then spread to the throat. However, it is possible to contract one through the mouth by kissing, sharing a cup, etc.
