See below: This is really an impossible question to answer as there are many variables including genetics, weight, types of physical activity, history of trauma to the joints or joints, smoking, poor diet, amount and type of exercise etc etc. Not everyone inevitably develops arthritis btw although we all develop a certain amount of wear on our joints just like we do on the tires of our cars.

Type of arthritis: There are a variety of different types of arthritis; some come immediately - like after trauma, or after infections. Some take time because they are a reaction to an infection, or another as yet unknown substance. Since many of the arthritis types we see as caused by yet unknown reasons we can not say how long it took to develop. We know people can take years from blood tests studies.
