how long does it take a young adult to develop arthritis?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Jay Rosenfeld
31 years experience Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
See below: This is really an impossible question to answer as there are many variables including genetics, weight, types of physical activity, history of trauma to the joints or joints, smoking, poor diet, amount and type of exercise etc etc. Not everyone inevitably develops arthritis btw although we all develop a certain amount of wear on our joints just like we do on the tires of our cars.
