Surgery or stent: Some aortic aneurysms occur in the chest. More often, aneurysms occur in the belly. Depending on the anatomy, some of the aneurysms can be surgically repaired and others can be repaired with a stent graft. Surgical repair involves excision and replacement of the aneurysmal segment. A stent graft is a percutaneous procedure.

EVAR : Today most in US have EVAR, stent in AAA-not possible every case. Most general anest, some local. Operating table & x-ray machine. Needles /small incisions R & L and left groin. Catheters slip thru arteries from the groins into aorta. New fabric vessel supported by wire cage (stent) slips through catheters, springs into aorta, positioned carefully. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUpXJBoAoWI
