Why are some allergies moree common than others (like cats)?

Exposure/foreignness: The frequency of an allergy is related to the amount of exposure that a population has and how likely a protein is to promote production of the allergic antibody. Proteins that are much different than those made by humans are more likely to cause this type of reaction.
