Cancer affecting the: Lining of the chest cavity and lungs is called mesothelioma. It produces fluid, leading to shortness of breath and cough. Invading the chest, it can cause pain, especilaly on deep breath and cough. Fatigue and weight loss are signals of advanced disease and may indicat difficulty tolerating treatment.
