A member asked:

Does air conditioner effects on laryngitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe, maybe not: Laryngitis symptoms are usually caused by viruses, but allergies, stomach reflux, etc..., can also cause symptoms. Cool, moist air can improve symptoms (vs. Warm, dry air). An air conditioner cools the air, but also dries the air, so it is hard to say how much help an a/c would offer. Also, old or dirty a/c air can have molds, dust, etc..., that can cause allergy symptoms and make things worse.
