Very: Partial liver transplants (living donor liver transplant) can be as effective as deceased donors but careful selection of both donor and recipient is the key. Make sure you are affiliated with a high volume center that specializes in this technique. Not every transplant center does this.

Lot of variables: with all the recent developments in the HCV world, we're certainly hoping to cut down on the number of pts needing transplants due to HCV-related disease. Partial (ie living donor?) transplants work well for a lot of people, especially if they're not profoundly decompensated. LMK if you had more specific questions.
