Bruise: It sounds as if you had a small blood vessel ruptures it should disappear in a few days

Why Swelling?: For what reason did both legs swell last night? If this is on a regular basis, then you need to see a specialist for an evaluation. The bruising is due to blood leaking into the skin. Since there is no pain, there is probably no serious damage. The only concern is why?
