A member asked:

I have large lump on roof of my mouth. it does not hurt and came on suddenly. any ideas what the cause may be. it is fairly hard, red, and bruised?

Evaluation: Without seeing the lesion it is hard to know exactly but a few things come to mind. A lump in the roof of the mouth could be a torus palitinus, median palatine cyst, palatal abscess or a tumor. See an ENT or oral surgeon for evaluation.
