Normal reflex not: This is a normal reflex NOT related to MCTD. After you eat, a large portion of blood flow is diverted to the stomach & intestines for digestion; it's as if you lose circulating blood volume. To maintain cardiac output to the brain, with less volume, the heart speeds up (volume x heart rate is the output. Decr of one means incr the other). This is the gastrocardiac reflex, & is entirely normal
